This Tribal Ego channel is the channel of tribal salesmanship in its most refined form. Gate 26's Heart provides the will and ego force to promote; Gate 44's Spleen provides the instinctual memory that informs it what to say and when — which approaches have worked, which patterns the tribe has responded to, what combination of timing and message will be most effective.

When defined, the person has consistent access to both the will to promote and the instinctual wisdom about how to do it effectively. Ra Uru Hu described Gate 26 as the gate of the tribal salesman — not in a pejorative sense, but as the genuine tribal function of promotion, of convincing the tribe to adopt what is beneficial, of ego used in service of the group's needs.
