This is the gate of the egoist: not selfishness, but the strategic use of the personal story and past success to make a compelling case for value. Ra Uru Hu described Gate 26 as the natural promoter — the one who can convince through the power of a well-remembered story. Gate 26 belongs to the Tribal Circuit (Ego sub-circuit) and carries Timeless frequency. It forms the Channel of Surrender (26-44) with Gate 44 (Alertness) in the Spleen Center. Gate 44 provides the instinctual memory of what has succeeded and failed; Gate 26 applies the Ego's willpower to promote and persuade based on that memory.
