The Channel of Transitoriness connects Gate 35 in the Throat Center — the gate of progress, of experience, of "I feel," of the hunger for engagement with the full range of human activity — to Gate 36 in the Solar Plexus Center, the gate of the darkening of the light, of crisis, of the drive for new emotional experience through transformation and trial. This Collective Abstract channel carries what Ra Uru Hu described as the experiential hunger of humanity: the need to have engaged with as much of life as possible, to have moved through crisis into a wisdom that could only be gained by going through it. The transitoriness of this channel's name is not inconstancy — it is the natural movement through experience that is the Abstract circuit's fundamental method of generating wisdom.

When defined, the person carries a consistent emotional-expressive drive toward new experiences, particularly those that carry the transformative potential of crisis. Gate 36 is not looking for comfort — it is looking for depth, and depth in the Abstract circuit is earned through difficulty. Gate 35's "I feel" voice is not merely reporting on existing emotional states; it is announcing the self's movement through experience, testifying to what has been encountered. Together these gates produce a quality of emotional expressiveness that is both urgent and transformative: the need to engage, to experience, to be changed by what is encountered.

The not-self challenge is pursuing crisis for its own sake, or becoming addicted to the emotional intensity of Gate 36 at the expense of the wisdom the crisis was meant to produce. This channel can be created electromagnetically between two people. If one person has Gate 35 defined in their design and another has Gate 36 defined (or vice versa), they complete this channel together — creating consistent The Channel of Transitoriness energy between them.
